During the last week we have been interviewing end users to validate whether giving away prizes makes a difference to them, or not. The question can’t be “do you want to win a prize?” because we know what the answer would be most of the time.

We interviewed users across various cultures, locations, genders, and age groups, to cover a wide range of demographics.

Conclusion: we won’t play your game if the user experience is bad, no matter what you give away. We will play your game if the user experience is great, even if you don’t give away prizes.

This helps us understand that the feedback received at the focus group was accurate, and that we must focus on the user experience above anything else, and not try to entice our users through other methods.
